I wrote the guard watch for the day. A SSG failed to report for guard at 0700. at 0710 I knocked on his door. After no response I tried to enter the room but the door was locked. I checked the trucks again to make sure he wasn’t out there. I watched the trucks until 0730 when LT came out and said the guns should come in. I believed it to just be a short passing shower. I saw the SSG come out to take down the gun. Once the guns were inside he disappeared again. I continued to watch the guns until 0810 which was when the airman I had issues with was supposed to be on shift (0800-0900). No show. I went to the PL and asked what his intent was for weapons watch. He instructed that the guns would be guarded inside by established truck watch. I went over to the staff barracks and got my relief. After pulling someone else’s shift I wrote my name in on the SSG’s slot and gave him mine tonight at 2200. Throughout the day I have passed the roster which is posted on the white board. His name seems to continually get wiped off. After rewriting it more times than I care to I wrote it in with permanent marker. His shift is in 2.5 hrs. Let’s see what happens at that point.
